Complaint Against ACLC SORSOGON

Here is a letter sent to me, DECS and CHED by some students from AMA CLC Sorsogon, students from other branches may also file their complaint in order to protect the right to a quality education.

======================================================================

JANUARY 20, 2005

TO AMA EDUCATION SYSTEM

Department of education DECS

And COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION (ched)

This is to bring to your attention what is going on in AMA CLC SORSOGON.

The number of teacher is only five or six for all the subjects.

The qualification for some of the subjects they teach is more than questionable since some of them even confess have no background of the subject they are requested to teach..

The policy seems to be: as long a teacher can read a book, he or she can understand, explain and teach the subject. The truth is far from this expectation.

25 to 50 % of the classes are ever dropped after attendance checking or not attended to by teachers who multiply the absences.

Some tests results for prelim are not yet given to the students.

The lessons are given mostly in local dialect even students cannot get it, and even language classes.

The school starts always one week after the official beginning of school by DECS and the first week is often gravely affected by schedules not ready or lack of teachers.

Some students get 25 points bonus for class participation even with deeply failing grades in exams and absences during quizzes. In some subjects 0 answers become automatically 75. One absentee gets in these cases the lowest grade obtained by attending students

That can be easily verified in the teachers records and attendance sheets.

The administration seems to be deficient in giving proper quality education in this place.

Mat we suggest you to investigate or observe this learning center for improvement before the next school year.

This is very discouraging for students we really want to learn and are dedicated to their studies making the needed efforts.

Allow us to keep anonymity for the sake of the concerned students regarding possible retaliation in the part of the office and teachers.

It is so saddening to note that it has come to this. With the advent of internet, backstabbing has come to an all-time low.

I am writing in defense of AMA CLC Sorsogon being a present student of the institution. Whoever wrote the complaints should first and foremost get his/her facts straight.

First, since last semester, ACLC Sorsogon has 9 not 5 or 6 instructors in its faculty line up. This could be easily verified by the school records and by anybody who has EYES. Syempre di mo naman pwede maging teacher lahat ng siyam dahil may field of specialization sila, no?

Second, it has never been a practice of the school and its faculty to multiply absences nor manipulate grades because what good will it do to them? Anybody who thinks beyond the obvious will know that it is always a big problem for a teacher whenever a student is always absent, so multiplying the absences of a student as a form of retaliation or whatever motive the writer may have concocted is simply ridiculous. At pag malala na ung absences, they even go as far as visit us in our homes para isumbong kami.

Third, instead na iaappreciate nya na ibinababa ng teacher ang discussion level even up to the point of using Bicol as a medium, e tinira nya. The way that letter was constructed is a testament that a pure-English discussion will simply result in more confusion. Check your sentences first before you judge others to be lacking in communication skills.
Fourth, it should be noted that the late start of classes is actually favorable to most of us who cannot enroll on time. Buti ka na lang at mayaman ka, you can enroll whenever you want. Had classes started immediately, it would leave the rest of us catching up with so many lost lessons. With regards to schedules, may I remind you that you are already in college? Lahat ng universities and colleges magulo ang schedule during the first weeks of classes. Di naman tayo elementary and nursery school na meron ng of one-teacher per advisory class.
Last but not the least, I have to wonder, why put the complaint in Blogspot in the first place and give letters to CHED and DECS directly? I notice that you did not mention the admin being furnished a copy. For the sake of fairness, everybody deserves to know its shortcomings ( kung meron man ). We are not showbiz personalities who are so used to airing their dirty linen in the public.
I am proud to be an AMAer. If you aren't, you can always leave di ba? But for God's sake, have some dignity.

ano ka ba?!?! have you been humping your profs. by the ass?... kahit 9 yung teachers sapat kaya yan sa dami ng studyante sa school?... a person with EYES can see that. Students can transfer but once the school knows that you are, they will fail you so as to keep the students... trust me... i'm a i got straight 1.25 sa grade slip ko. i told the dean that i might transfer tapos next term... ginawa na ko 5 sa math... pero pag tinignan mo yung quizzes

and by the way... your school has already been reported... GOOD DAY!

How sad naman. :(

have you ever wondered to yourself what you have just done?...pinahiya mo ang AMA-CLC of SORSOGON ng walang pakundangan!....shame on you...
well...for me?...i love to be part of AMA!...you see...i am just startin to build my dreams on the school you have downgraded....and i'm sure,i am goin to treasure every inch of time there no matter what!.

as a student of this institution, and apparently im still here, we have to be careful on what we are saying sometimes and those complaints are all bringing us down. Im a student, and in the second year right now. when we are in the first year, we've felt same as many freshmen did. we did complained, murmured, and i even almostly cursed them because of such "mistakes" as they said, but nothing is certain on what or who are right... my fellow classmates said we must fight for it. and as this complains go by, i've seen how the people of "ADMIN" office really working for it. and what they've did is good, maybe not to all but for us/me it is.... dropped students passed and those who really dont "like" the way they run the school left, then i discovered something not good between peers pressure and bad guide or commander. That's all.
ALL I WANTED TO TELL THE ADMIN IS "GOOD, FOR LETTING MANY TO CONTINUE AND "BAD" FOR MANY UNSOLVED ACCUSATIONS... Im not in their or your side because no one is really taking care of the unknown or unfamilliar student's sides. Please answer or give an action to this things.
1. Please stop allowing male students to light cigaretes in the school entrance, many people outside doesn't like such impressions.
2. Proper scheduling in Internet and Lab. Please no favoritism.
3. Minimize happenings, and please recognize and listen to all the students not just those who are related/connected to Mr.Chairman/President...
THANK YOU!

loyal ako sa amaclc dahil they've did what im not expecting they will do such things.... maxado ka kasi matalino, sorry bobo kami kung sino ka man na nagreklamo about sa grades....

This is sad. I was part of the pioneer group which started this school back in 1998. I was insulted about the comment on teachers...i was once an ACLC teacher, i was able to train students and see them succeed in IT skills Olympics, saw them thrive outside the school environment and became persons of success...I myself is a product of this institution, and I now work for a multi-national and earns an above average pay. Using only what i've learned from ACLC.

Im not condemming the writer of the post. People see things in different perspective, and that I respect.

To the ACLC Sorsogon Admin, the words may have tainted our professionalism but out of 100 things you do right the one thing you did wrong will come up like a sore thumb...

the kid has a point, or maybe he or she may have been overshadowed with dissappointment...any which way we should have open ears to listen and open hands to remedy what has transpired.

To the writer of "Complaint Against ACLC SORSOGON", try to check ones conscience...is this because i wanted change or i wanted to get even...Change is imminent, what you have wrote may have paved the way for it or even before this there are little things that constitute changes. I admire your hunger for quality education. Keep that hunger burning in you. And please be considerate of your teachers. And always remember never to question a person's skill or talent because these can be shaped and molded to perfection, try to check attitudes and etiquette, there is where we can find the difference...

I am a former teacher / lab instructor of ACLC Sorsogon.

hi!
hehhehehe

..."I am happy to read some of the shout outs in this blog. In fact I had never thought that madadagdagan pa yung mga testimonials dito. Isa ako sa mga nagpublish ng comment here-and that was almost three years ago. And that time, I had found out that ako yung magpopost sa bottom page.wow! Now Former Professors and students came across to this blog and taken into acount to share their points of view. And again, here's mine.

I was searching way back then for a school that time that will provide a career path for me, and for that, I have chosen ACLC sor. Since then it changed everything.

A well known person of ACLC once told me na lahat ng school may weakness, my kakulangan, at may kapintasan-malaki man o maliit. The only point is, ikaw estudyante.

Mala man ta nakagradweyt ako? You see the point is, people, It's not the kapintasan that matters sa schooling..look at the brighter side! What still does the name ACLC can offer you especially pagdating sa education? Mind you, hindi kulelat ang apat na letrang yan pagdating sa IT.

Ikaw parin ang magdedesisyon sa huli. Give your best shot. Makagradweyt ko and landed on a very competitive job and you think ACLC dont deserve such credit from yours, by all means. fine! After all its your choice. Pero sa tingin mo, after all those years of schooling and you think you made it through the help of ACLC, then magpatirapa ka at magpugay.

Ngunit, sapagkat, datapwa't marahil..

Amen to that!

Sa former P22A batch 2008, kun harain man kamo niyan, may mga trophy na o dai pa...magpakasaya!!!
Live life to the fullest!

to thee be all the gratitude.

Best regards.

Yun nga yung nangyayari "as long as the prof can read and understand the [textbook]" ehh nakakapag turo na without comprehensive background sa subject na tinuturo nila.
